I hand wrote these notes at a Toronto Power Group event back on August 13 2008. Since they have made such a big impact on my life and others since then, I typed them out to share with everyone. Big thanks to TPG organizer Calvin Strachan and speaker John Lenberg for this priceless information on training your mind.

TPG Daily Success Conditioning Ritual
Focus your mind on a very specific concrete target and hit it!
4 steps:

Step 1 : Power Move
Make your power move ten times first thing in the morning!
The purpose of the power move is just to change your state – all that matters is the level of conviction to it, you are changing your mental state at will

DO THIS TECHNIQUE EVERY MORNING FOR 30 DAYS!
Why did you not follow through?
Because of fear. Stopping the fear from being in the drivers seat of your life is a big part of the daily success conditioning ritual. The repetition itself (scientifically proven, used by NASA) from committing to something will take care of everything.

Just. Show. Up.

Step 2: Visualize An Outcome
(Career, Finance, Physical Health, Mental Health, Relationship)
Relationships are at the core of a happy life. Men: do not rely solely on your intellect! “issues are resolved and solved at the heart”.

Be SPECIFIC of what it is that you want to achieve
Visualize this outcome for 30 days every day to change your state and use the power of your mind to achieve your outcome.

Visualize for a minimum time of 1 minute and a maximum time of 2-3 minutes. You will methodically create an arrow of thought and launch it towards your outcome

“big success carries with it some penalties”

Step 3: Celebrate That Outcome!

Do this with full conviction, use your body! Visualize it and feel it being real, like it’s already done. Give your mind the experience that you’ve achieved something that you really want to achieve.

Step 4: ID Statements

I AM HERE (absolutely true)
I AM AWAKE (total conviction)
I AM ALIVE (play fullout)
I am the kind of person who cares about another person

Give yourself the experience of how to be in control of your mind. Train your mind to obey what you really want.

BELIEF STATEMENTS:

what would you have to believe is true in order for the visualization you just had to come to fruition?

- I CAN SEE (it’s true)
- I CAN HEAR

the purpose of this is to give your heart and mind something that’s not debatable

-I CAN FEEL

You will have established in the kingdom of your life who is in charge. If you do that, then your heart and your mind and your life will start to obey.

SAY YES!

“You need a vision, something that works, fits, feels right, gets you going. People will come after you, you won’t have to go after them.” – FFA Expert David Cohen

What would you do if all your food, rent/mortgage, vehicle and utility bills were paid for? Where would you go, how would you spend your time? If self-sustainability was provided, month after month, without you having to work, what would you do with your life? Have you ever even asked yourself these questions?

The short answer is, however you want to live your life, you can achieve that lifestyle.

Do you want your time, your career, your mobility, your life back? Are you willing to keep an open mind? If so, keep reading. Are you reading this article with a smugly skeptical smile and a chip on your shoulder? Are you thinking you’re already “ok”? Stop reading. Nothing I say here will change your mind, because you think you’re doing ok. T. Harv Eckhart, Bob Proctor, Robert Kiyosaki? They’re doing ok. They choose whether or not they want to go to work because their income is on autopilot. If that’s you, I am delighted you’re reading my blog. If not, please, stop reading.

We buy things every day. Everyone does, we buy necessities to live! But what about if you made money every time you bought them? In other words, what if you earned an affiliate commission every time you buy your food, or heat your home?
More and more people are earning residual incomes off of their own essential living items every day. They realize that someone is already earning that commission every time they buy. It’s reflected in the commission of the rep that got their account. It’s reflected in the fee of the advertisers that made them want to get the product. It is even reflected in the share price for stakeholders, or the account of the executive for securing that business. So how about diverting some of that wealth back into our own pockets?
How? That’s not the important part, there are proven systems to earn affiliate commissions off of essential items. Through these systems you can become financially free. The important part is why – what is important enough in your life to create that financial security? Why is spending your time doing what you want more important than doing what someone else wants? Everyone has excuses not to change what’s normal. You have to be crystal clear on why you want the results you want – ultimately that’s whats going to pick you up when you fall down and drive you towards your goal.

“Until you are completely willing to accept the full responsibility of a relationship it will not work. You are at all times in every way, 100% responsible for your life.” – Darren Hardy

Everyone is an entrepreneur. Every time you share an idea, you give value.

Time, Money and Mobility are all currencies. If you make $200k per year, but work 60 hour weeks in the same place, you’re not really rich. You have no true freedom, because time is much more valuable than money. People don’t care about a million dollars, they care about what that million dollars can buy them.

How comfortable are you with leverage?
The true measure of a man’s success is if he can live his life in his own way.
Why is it important for you to be successful in your pursuit of wealth?
What do you want to do in your life?
How do you want to spend your time?
Do you want to go swimming with dolphins?
Lie on a beach?
Go travelling?

What about when all that gets boring?

What’s your true passion?

Mine is helping 100 people make $100k passive over the next 10 years. I think that is very achievable.

Adam, my business partner, tells me he wants to be a gym teacher. He would be perfectly happy if he could play sports with kids all day. The only thing is, he doesn’t want to get paid like a gym teacher. He wants to have financial security so even if he lost his job, he wouldn’t lose his quality of life.

Fight to put your income on autopilot so you can focus on your time.

Career – not money, but time!

Crush your competition with your Self-image
What a difference your self image mindset can make. Back in school, I was a smart guy but didn’t have an image of where I was going in life. I wasn’t scared or insecure, I just had no idea what I was missing out on. However, it meant that I sold myself out for cheap laughs. People knew me as the class clown and no one would take me seriously. Looking back, being in a position where you can’t see the path you’re on is a scary thing.

The key to attracting your goals is to create a mental image of yourself in the future and attract yourself to it.

Bob Proctor puts it the best I have ever heard it: An acorn knows it wants to be an oak tree. The blueprint inside the acorn is of an oak tree. Once you put the seed in the ground, the acorn starts attracting everything it needs to become an oak tree out of the ground. the acorn will keep attracting from its environment that which it needs to fulfill its future self image.

Here’s the awesome part: our minds work in the same way. We attract what we need from our environment to become how we see ourselves. Being human, we have an advantage over acorns because we can choose to become whatever tree we want. We have the opportunity to change our internal blueprint of growth.

I went from someone who is not clear on their future, to someone who has a vision of exactly how their life will plan out, right down to the numbers. I went from living every day in an environment that expected more of the same, to surrounding myself with millionaires, charitable givers, community development leaders, and other examples of success I could follow. This environment expected me to do something different.

The only thing separating people who want to build everyday and people who coast through life is PASSION. I know this, because I used to not know my true passion. As John C Maxwell says, “Passion is the great motivator and energizer”. Put very simply, follow the path of your passion and you will find how to be successful.

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.” – Dead Sea Scrolls

“you can’t run great software on a crappy operating system. To change your habits, you first have to change your beliefs” – Darren Hardy

Have anyone ever said something to you that seems foolish, false or completely irrational? Has it caused you to immediately discredit all future information from that source? If so, congratulations. You are human. Just like how the built-in “ouch, that’s hot” reflex draws our bodies away from pain, our brain protects our subconscious from being poisoned by bad information. As John Lenberg puts it, “your subconscious mind doesn’t give a shit. It’s like a baby chick, it will eat whatever it’s mother feeds it.”

Every day, beneficial information is discredited and valuable opportunities stifled because a primal instinct (our inner child, if you will) perceives it to be harmful. How does our brain decide what information is “good”, and which is “bad”? It starts with our beliefs. When beliefs are weighted with emotions they bring values, thought, action and lifestyle. Every action we make is a result of what we believe in. So, ideas that challenge our core beliefs often get shut down immediately. Our inner child guarding the door to our subconscious sees a threat to our current standard of living and rejects the ideas. These ideas may actually help us so we must all know how to stand up to the voice inside and do the right thing.

Here are 5 powerful ways of teaching your inner child to behave:

1) take a deep breath before throwing a tantrum
Counting 1-3 seconds before responding allows triggered emotions to fade. This ensures an adult’s response.

2) ask questions instead of jumping to conclusions
You owe it to your inner child to relay beneficial information. If something is fuzzy but still sparkles, don’t let your kid throw it in the trash. That’s lazy. Be resourceful and satisfy your curiosity.

3) reward good behaviour, learn from bad
Celebrate all progress with your inner child. Taking compliments well is equally as important as giving them well. On a day where things don’t go your way, take notes. Your child is watching you.

4) short term pain breeds long term pleasure and vice versa
Imagine someone ripped the space-time continuum and showed you the effect of eating McDonald’s over 30 years after just one bite. How about if you were shown your 30 year sum of saving $5 per day after just one day. Would you change your habits?

5) confront the bully
People make up excuses so they don’t have to face their fears of loss, rejection and failure (or success). Plain and simple, everyone does it. If you are human, you have made excuses. Help your inner child stack memories of positive responses to challenges. Each experience, success or failure, builds your child back stronger and with a more expanded comfort zone.

With a trained inner child, hear out everyone. You never know when life will broadside you with fortune.

“when you step through your fear, not only is the fear gone, but you’re there! The bigger, stronger you!” – Tony Robbins

“Even a good excuse is still just an excuse.” – Coach Dave Francis

Listening – The Path to Wealth, Great Relationships and the Jedi Mindset

“You can’t establish trust if you can’t listen.” – Jeffrey Coombs

Listening is easily the most valuable skill in social interactions. You can motivate people, cultivate opportunity for yourself, get great people to respect you and connect with the partner of your dreams. This is because 1) You gather information 2) you gather goodwill and 3) you can steer the conversation. When you listen well, the world opens up to you.

Do you fear large social encounters or meeting new people? Afraid of saying/doing the wrong thing or getting rejected? Regretting missing out on income or opportunity? If so, becoming awesome at listening is your magic elixir to the heighths of fortune and social status. Here’s the recipe:

Listen to find out what someone’s passion is.
Ask them questions about them and their passion.

Now be quiet and rake in the information (Body language, tone, and vocabulary). Knowing WHY someone fights through life is the golden nugget. Most people will gladly tell you about their passion when you ask them. They appreciate someone who listens to them talk about themselves.

We all feel the urge to cut people off, tell them our opinion, or finish their sentences. Let the urge pass. In the next 1-3 seconds a far better question will come from your gut. Know it, rely on it and over time receive zen-like listening discipline.

How to convert this info into points:

Asking questions allows you to steer the conversation towards your objective. There is no need to sell when you listen and ask the right questions.
Just remember when it comes time to ask the important question:

- Other people’s priorities matter very little to you when compared to your own.
- Almost every one shares that same quality.
-Therefore, the only way to get someone to do something is to line it up with their interests.

They only way to learn their interests is by listening.

Are they buying what you’re saying? If not, don’t ask the important question. You haven’t found the right information yet. Keep on listening.

“Their force is like a drawn crossbow and their timing is like the release of the trigger.” -Sun-tzu
